8 Fun Ways to Dye Easter Eggs!

I tried a bunch of egg dyeing experiments, and in this video I'm showing the ones that worked best!

For the dye, I used a Paas kit that you can get at the grocery store. Each color of dye is a tablet that you dissolve in water and vinegar. Feel free to use food coloring or other types of dye, though!

Easy Easter Basket (No Weaving)

This week's project is up a little early! It is a really simple paper Easter basket, which unlike my other basket videos, requires no weaving. It is really quick to make and uses less paper :)

Here are the patterns you'll need. If you can't print, you can make your own patterns by creating two 5"x 5" (12.7 cm) squares. On one of them, add a 1/2" (1.27 cm) tab on three of the sides.

Easter Basket Card Tutorial

New video! We're creating this Easter basket card :)

The Easter egg in the front can be taken out of the basket and opened up to reveal a message!

Here are the patterns you'll need:

(To print: move your mouse over it, click the "Pop-out" icon in the upper right corner,
then click the print icon in the top center of the page.)

How to Make an Easter Basket

A new video is up, and it's about how to make an Easter basket!

The finished size of this basket (not including the handle) is roughly 4" x 4" x 4".

Here are a few tips to keep in mind:

-When you weave the squares pieces in, try to make sure each of the side pieces alternate over and under it. If one piece is over, the one next to it should go under. This will keep the color pattern consistent.
(If you're watching closely in the video, when I wove in the first piece I make a mistake and have two pieces next to each other that are the same- oops! Please ignore this and follow the under-over rule)

-If you don't have a glue gun, white glue should also work if you let it dry after each step.

Tutorial: Paper Birdhouse for Mother's Day

A new video just went up! It shows how to create a cute little paper birdhouse,
which you can fill with candy and give to your mom for Mother's Day!

You could also make these for other occasions, of course - I think they'd be great for Easter, too.

                                                                 Here are the patterns:

To print it, hover over it and click the right icon at the top (that says "Pop-out" when you hover on it). Next, click on the printer icon at the top. Finally, make sure the paper size on the lower left is set to 8x10 and the "fit to page option" is checked.

(Note: If you do not have a Google account you unfortunately may not be able to access this file due to the way Google Drive (where this file is stored) works. If you have a Google account, open another window and log into it, then reload this page. If you don't have a google account, you can make one here)

If you are going to be putting candy in the birdhouse, make sure to use paper that is strong enough to hold it. Card stock works very well for this.
